Eunika Rogers was born and raised in a small village near Trnava, Slovakia, the former Czechoslovakia. At the age of 12, her family fled the communist bloc in the former Yugoslavia in refugee camps, and finally her  parents immigrated to Canada. Seven years later, graduated from high school, she packed her bags and headed south into the Mississippi Delta with a grant from the Delta State University. Today Eunika always paints with red Mississippi clay she digs near Carrollton Mississippi adding to her range  other clays and pigments. Like a hiker she searchs isolated deposits of clay and with her backpack, a small shovel, Ziploc bags and her camera to record her experience. These clays provide her with coloring pigments to try, through her art, capturing the "passage of time" and how time deposits its imprints on our lives.
